I made this recipe some time ago but thought it was worth sharing.
It is a 1 1/2 pound pumpkin nut bread.
Very tasty bread. We loved it.
Pumpkin Nut Bread
3/4 cup canned pumpkin
1/3 cup milk
1 large egg
1 tbls butter
1 tsp salt
2 1/3 cup bread flour
2/3 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
3 tbls brown sugar
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp yeast
I most always just use my bread machine to knead the dough. I always keep track of the dough when it starts to knead to see if it needs extra water or flour to form a nice tacky but not sticky dough ball. I then take it out and form it into a loaf pan, into rolls or any shape I want and bake around 35 minutes at 350°. I use an instant read thermometer and strive for 190° to 195°.
Oooo I like that this is a yeast bread! Nice!

I have bookmarked a similar pumpkin yeast bread but don't have the time yet to make. This looks delicious. I'll try to sneak it in our BBAC sked. Thanks for sharing.:)
ReplyDeleteOggi,
ReplyDeleteThanks, I plan to make it again too along with so many other great breads if I can squeeze them in between the BBA's too.
There is only two of us here now so I should just bake and give away. :)
Susie
I bet this pumpkin bread is so good! I saw your post in google groups. I was going to do the bread baking but never did. I noticed your RR email address and thought I would come and say hi as you probably live in my area.
ReplyDeleteI love all your purses here. I am currently on a purse craze.
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteYes the bread was really good. Thanks.
I live in northern NY. Do you?
I can't seem to find a blog for you. Do you have one?
I haven't made a purse in quite a long time. Would love to make another though.
Glad you commented,
Susie
