Bread Baker’s Apprentice: CHALLENGE #8 Cinnamon Buns

UPDATE:The cinnamon rolls were just a little dry. Not like a gooey/doughy type cinnamon roll. I baked them for 23 minutes and I think 20 may have been better and maybe I could hold back a little flour.

YES, I SKIPPED #7 the ciabatta! I will do that one next week!
Oh well, I'm a rebel.
We've got special company coming over tonight for coffee and I thought the cinnamon buns would be nice to have!
I did the cinnamon bun recipe using all purpose flour and King Arthur's Baker's Special Dry Milk.

Here they are cooling and yes they are huge!

DID you see the "S"??? LOL!

Here they are with the glaze! I only made up half of the glaze and
didn't hardly use half of that. :)

Thought you would like to see the "S" by itself all glazed.
YUM!

I will most definaltely make these again and again and again. SO VERY GOOD!

    I realize that I am so behind, I'm still on "B" ...

  4. HoneyB,
I knew you would want to stop because you are tired and need some sugar. I could maybe spare one. LOL! :)
    Thanks!

I'm backed up against the wall with commercial photo work, but will be back baking again soon.

  10. Phyl,
Thanks! I'm sort of confused on when to use my starter. I guess Reinhart used the word BARM in place of starter but don't know what the consistency being different. I'll learn.
Thanks again and have fun with your Challah.

  11. Niagaragirl,
Thanks! Yes, my fetish with the "S" is getting harder to design for each loaf. I may have to quit. :o)
Hope you can find time soon to bake.

  16. Looks like the dough gave you a very light textured roll. I bet they just melted in your mouth. Frank, baker/blogger @ KAF.

  17. Cindy,
Thanks! I think next time I may bake them a little less or be more careful with the flour adding. They seemed a bit dry. Not bad but more like bread than a true cinnamon roll.
    :)
    Have fun,
    Susie

  30. Oh dear. I didn't realize these were coming up! Mr. B just talked about going in to have his cholesterol checked...after the brioche and with these on the horizon I'll have to tell him to wait until fall! They look absolutely divine. Great job!

  33. They are fabulous. I want one. I made the ciabattas. Did not get those big holes. I think I did not put enough water. I have to make those buns soon.

  34. Helene,
I made the ciabatta today too and will report about it tomorrow. I didn't get the big holes either but it is a very tasty bread. :)
