Here is my try with the BBA Challenge Bread #10 Corn Bread.
Update:
After tasting a few pieces the rest didn't get touched. It was just too gooey, puddingly, and corny. I would not make this again.
Yes, I know I'm getting way ahead but like I've said before I'm vacationing the month of August and I don't want to get TOO far behind. It is suppose to be a cool week here in northern NY so may bake the next one tomorrow.
It is very tasty although it is NOT like your normal every day corn bread. It is more like a sweet pudding type cake bread. :)
Susie, you are AMAZING. You are FLYING through this BBA challenge, and you manage to find time to leave the nicest comments on everyone else's blogs, too! I appreciate you blazing the bread-baking trail for us all! I think you deserve an award!
ReplyDeletetwoskinnyjenkins,
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOODNESS. What a sweet comment.
Thanks so very much. I hope to at least be on schedule when we get back from our NY TO CA BACK TO NY trip on the Harley the end of August. :) YEHA!
Thanks again,
Susie
Sounds like a fun trip! My hubbie and i wanted to do that on our road bikes (treks-not harleys), but cannot find the time!
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to complement your Cinnamon Raisin Walnut Bread crumb. looks delicious.
Hope you find the time soon to ride. :) It sure is fun. Tiring but fun.
ReplyDeleteOh thanks for the compliment. Next time I'm going to bake it in the oven and not the NESCO. It baked too much and got dry fast.
Susie
My god! You are already on corn bread! It looks wonderful.
ReplyDeletepinkstripes,
ReplyDelete:) I have to get ahead because I'm vacationing ALL of August. I just did the Cranberry-Walnut Celebration Bread #11. I'll post about it later today or tomorrow. :) I hope to be at least 4 recipes ahead before I leave. :)
Thanks a bunch,
Susie
I love the T-shirt pan with the S on it, very creative.:)
ReplyDeleteI plan to bake this one for 4th of July weekend as I already did the CinnaRaisinWalnut last Saturday (semi-disaster, btw). Yeah, I noticed the amount of sugar in the corn bread recipe is rather high but I'm eager to make it. Looking forward to reading your Cranberry Celebration bread.:)
This cornbread looks great; love the pudding type and now I'll be looking forward to it! I'll be traveling a bunch later in the summer too; I'm baking ahead (well baking ahead of my slow pace) and saving the posts. Look forward to your future breads!
ReplyDeleteOggi,
ReplyDeleteHi there ole pal. :)
I'm sure your Corn Bread will be a hit. Have a nice weekend.
You didn't post about your Cinnamon Raisin Walnut loaf right?????????? I don't remember seeing it.
Thanks!
Susie
Nancy,
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your vacation.
I 'have' to post as I do them as it would drive me crazy not too and I'd forget anything that I wanted to write down if I waited. :)
Thanks,
Susie
My goodness! You're just moving right along. Your cornbread looks wonderful! We could all just sit back and watch you go...:)
ReplyDeleteCathy,
ReplyDeleteOH NO don't sit back and just watch me. LOL! You all will catch up while I'm gone the month of Aug. :)
Thanks!
Susie
I'm going to guess that the "S" on the shirt stands for Superwoman! You're my idol. I need to catch up!
ReplyDeleteMags,
ReplyDeleteYes, The "S" stands for SUSIE SUPERWOMAN! LOL!
Thanks gal,
Susie
Susie Superwoman Oh yeah! I like it.
ReplyDeleteI did this corn bread very soon after I got the book years ago. I love it and have done it several times. I consider it an "ultimate".
MyKitchenInHalfCups,
ReplyDeleteLOL, yes SUSIE SUPERWOMAN! Ha Ha Ha!
Do you have a blog post about your corn bread?
Susie
