Bread Baker’s Apprentice: CHALLENGE #11 Cranberry-Walnut Celebration Bread

ANOTHER "S" ????

This is my try at the Cranberry-Walnut Celebration Bread.
I did a braid and tried to shape it into an "S". LOL! Was I successful?
VERY tasty loaf. I will definately be making this again. Be careful with the water addition. He says 1/4 to 1/2 cup. I did about 1/4 and found that plenty.

  1. This looks very similar to the Artos. How do you think they compare? Which one is better? This one looks delicious!

  2. Thanks for the heads up on the water amount. See? I knew there was a reason I was following behind you.

Did you use all of the amounts of cranberries and walnuts that were called for? It looked like a lot to me.

  3. haleysuzanne,
There is lemon or orange flavor used in this one but no spices. HUM, I can't say which is better. I like them both probably the same. :)
    Thanks!

  4. Mags,
Ya don't dump all the water in at once. Just use like 1/8 cup or so and add as needed. I actually filled the 1/2 cup and dumped some in about 1/4 of a cup and I thought it was going to be to much but then thought I have to put the ADD INS yet. Added them in drew up the excess fluid and the dough ball was perfect.
Yes I used all the amounts of cranberries and walnuts. It is a lot but that is what makes it yummy. :)
    Have fun,
    Susie

  12. I still can't figure out the correct amount of water to use in some of his recipes. Hit or miss for me. Glad to see it turned out great!

  13. Jude,
Ya, I think you are right that it is hit or miss for most. :) I do well except when he says it is to be a wet dough. How wet? LOL!
    Thanks.
