pointed q-tips? where do you get them from? what do you use them for? are they for cleanup? i've been trying a brush but can't get enough remover to take off dark color when they stray onto my tips
peripatetic33, The pointed Q-Tips I got from Walmart but they don't carry them anymore and I've found some at Rite Aid and I think Kinney Drugs. I use them for clean up. I have a hard time with a brush too. Would like a nice stiff one. LOL, boy did that ever sound dirty. LOL> Susie
I love it when people you pictures of how they store everything it gave me ideas of how I could do Guess what I also got a shelf and the polishes that don't fit in it are on baskets too lol
Olivia, If you would have asked, I would have sooner. : Thanks a whol bunch. Susie
Rebie, I too love it when people show their hauls and stashes. :) Baskets are great but I like my rack best. Love seeing them all lined up. Thanks a lot, Susie
thanks so much for sharing Susie. i really like your setup. my goal today is to finish entering all of my polishes into a spreadsheet but i don't think it's gonna happen, lol.
Do you ever think about polishing nails as a cash hobby? Friends and family are sooo excited when I take out my nail polish tool box!!! I don't have a corner yet... and with 5 kids who would take that risk!!??? But I do have a pretty big tool box. (fits over 100 polishes) Which I'm asked to bring along when I visit!! LOL But I often wonder if I should start charging $5 or so to friend's of a friend.... it would help support my polish addiction...hahha
Wow Susie im jealous! What a lovely little place you got there for your nailadventures :D Im so jealous of the cabinet on the wall, been looking for such a thing for ages!
Sophie, I have 'many' hobbies and that is what I'd like to keep them. I enjoy macramé, quilting, purse making, bread baking, graphic design, html, hand knitting, machine knitting, machine embroidery, cake and cookie decorating, Rachael Ray Cooking, Heat Press Transfer and now nail polishing. I've had many ask me for all of my goodies I make and if I say yes to one then I should say yes to all AND besides that they would not be hobbies to enjoy but a JOB to dread. I make things for family and friend gifts and that's about it. :) Good idea but I don't want to end up disliking my 'joys'! I did sell embroidered clocks at one point and YUP it became a JOB and a hassle. :) THanks though, really, Susie
How many polishes do you have? I took pictures of my collection yesterday and was pretty surprised there were so many. great collection, your setup is really fancy.
WOW! I love it! I wish I could already settle in my new room so I can fix up my walls and desk in a similar way. All of my 1000+ polishes are kind of all over the place. Your sanctuary is beautiful!
That is one heck of a nail station. I don't think my husband would let me have one that extensive, unless I let him decorate our bedroom with oakland raiders theme (which will happen over my dead body..haha)
Beata, Yup it is. Thanks. My husband doesn't let me do anything...........lol.......I just do it. :) He would want the NY Giants anyway. HA HA HA . Susie
wow thats amazing! You are so so organised its fabulous :) Do you always paint your nails at the station thou? I paint my nails everywhere in the house :P
i love ur station, u have a great collection of polish. i have never seen pointed Q tips, i bet they would work great for cleaning the cuticle area of polish. thanks susie
Ohhhh Susie... this is just glorious! I'm glad I took a peek at this before I went into the city, because I didn't feel that bad about breaking my no-buy! I picked up 6 polishes today :3 I wish I could find my camera charger (I put it somewhere last time I cleaned up and I can't remember where) to make a post on my blog... ahh!
I LOVE HOW ORGANISED AND NEAT THIS LOOKS!!!!!! *Scream* I wish I could do something similar like this... but my space too small :-(
I love having everything in its right place and this really gets me excited. Yes, I am a saddie but it's true!! Thank you so much for this post. I'm wondering if I shouldn't put up a nail polish rack on the wall also... um...
Thanks gals. :) I love 'my' space! It actually is a very small area. The Q-tips use to be at Walmart but can't find them anymore there. I've bought them from Rite Aid and I think Kinney Drugs. Jen hope you find your camera. Susie
All I can say is - WOW!!!!!! Omgish I am totally envious of your nail polish area! I really want to set up my own area but I don't think my family would appreciate it.

wow...omg..i wish i could have a nail station like yours!!! i'm trying to expand my nail polishes collection tho... but the brands offered here are very very limited.. so sad... i want OPI n China Glaze!!!
yokeMun, Thanks for liking my space. I don't have a lot in my local area to shop from. I mean just dollar stores and drug stores. A few other shops about an hour away. I do some of my shopping on line. Can you shop on line? Susie
Once again my small collection of nail polish has been justified! I just started a second tote and my family about threw a fit! Good to know I'm not the only one that has a bunch of polish! and also good to know that someone else has a ton of hobbies! I have maybe ten or 12 different things i like to do.
Your polish is so neatly organized!!! I LOVE it!! I want a polish sanctuary!! My polish area is my kitchen table... lol. (aka my eating space/computer room/work area/etc! lol). That wall rack is SO GREAT. I want!!
Brooke, Thanks. Don't get mad but I have my own sewing room too. :) Kids have been grown and gone now for almost 8 years. Here's my space where I sew quilts, wall hangings, make t shirts smaller, make purses, machine embroidery, fabric bowls, t shirt transfer and lots of other things. http://susies1955.blogspot.com/2010/02/want-to-see-my-sewing-room.html Susie
