Konad of the day and My 'real' opinion of the BundleMonster Fauxnad Plates:

First off I want to thank http://beautopia.onsugar.com/ for the Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud polish. I won it on her blog. She is awesome. If you want to see awesome manicures and other wonderful blog posts, stop by her site.
These are the items I used.

Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud is a dark gray with a purplish undertone and went on in two coats.

I sort of hurried so I could get it done before lunch. I shouldn't hurry a manicure. :)

See the purplish undertone?

OK here is where I want to discuss my real opinion of the Bundle Monster Fauxnad plates.
I took the time to look over all 21 of the plates. There are quite a few designs that are very untrue likenesses of what the design is suppose to be and the design is just splatted onto the plate without much though into the form and outline of a true and well made design.
There are quite a few good designs too though.
Take this fire/flame design from plate BM07 using Konad Red Polish for the stamping. It is not well formed and just doesn't look like much in my opinion.
Would I pay $17.99 for 21 of those plates again......well........I would have to say yes because there are quite a few nice designs. Konad I do have to say takes more thought into their designs and more of a quality image.
Just my opinion. :) You will see more of these plate designs from me I'm sure.

  2. That Sally Hansen is gorgeous. Congratulations on your win!

Thanks for your opinion on the plates, as well. 21 plates is quite a lot, so if you'd buy them again then perhaps I should start saving up for some :P

  4. i definitely agree, some of the images have no definition to them whatsoever, you would have to be very experienced in konading to get them right. i do love many of them though, like the stars! soo gorgeous and festive for july!

  6. YES Reem, Iris and Student.........the quality is just a tad lacking BUT the price of Konad they should be better. :) These fauxnads do have some extra special designs that Konad doesn't offer. :)

  8. I like the option of fauxnad plates becuase I find that most konad designs do not appeal to me. They are mostly flowers and foo-foo little girl designs. The fauxnad plates have a lot of the neat designs that I like, such as: spider webs! Leaves and nature! Hippy/boho designs! As much as I like Konad, I find the plates a little boring.
Thank you for showing me this cool deal on the bundle! I think a few good designs are worth a few crappy ones!

  9. Skulda,
I agree with you. There are a few negatives but MANY more positives to the fauxnads. I'm getting ready to try another in a few minutes. :)
In doing a review you always run the risk of pointing out the negatives and not the positives and I think I mentioned many positives. I love the variety of the designs and like you said a few bad ones mean nothing. :)

  12. I was looking at these myself. I decided to give them a miss when I heard the full nail designs were small. I struggle with the size of the Konad ones sometimes, so these would not do for me. Great review Susie, thanks :o)

  13. Thanks BabyD, some cute designs though. I know there are a lot of ladies that need the full designs BIGGER instead of smaller.

  14. Hi Susie!
I purchased these plates from Bundlemonster as well- just got em a couple of days ago.

I agree that some of the images are "iffy", however- for someone like me- into doing multi layered stamping ALL the images are useful for something! For instance, the flame image you used in your example is a great substitute stamp for grass.(I've been using Konad M66 for this and needed another alternative)
As for the full nail images being too small (for all but the most petite nails)...Since my nails are long and wide, these full images are super to use on my tips for funky french-es!

While these images are not as quality as Konad, they are cut deeper and sharper than some of the European fauxnad plates I've been buying.

  16. Thanks for this blog. I've been going back and forth on whether or not to delve into the world of Fauxnad. ;) I might give it a try now if even out of sheer curiosity.

And ainos2, awesome tip for the funky frenchey! :)

  17. MakeupMandiTX,
:) Thanks! GET THEM, they are well worth it. A few draw backs but nothing that makes them not worth the money. :)

  19. Witoxicity,
There are a few that are crappy but just a few and the full nail designs are TOO small. Some are placing them sideways and doing it twice on the thumbs.
