This is what I started with. Just a clear glass ornament.
Then I played!
Here is what you need!
Glass ornaments from the craft store
Ultra fine glitter
Future Floor wax (I can imagine any CLEAR floor wax would work)
Ribbon
If I would have had some die cuts or some vinyl lettering I may have added that.
Here is the video where I got the idea from:
this is beautiful!! great blog too!
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this! I had been thinking of a similar project, but only with the glitter on the outside! I figured that would flake off so I didn't do the project. This is so much better! What glitter did you use? I'm particularly interested in the last photo, third ornament in - seems like it might be a glitter mix or a bit holo. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI have another question - I have a Martha Stewart glitter set that is "fine" - is all the glitter you used "ultra fine"? Do you think I can get away with "fine" glitter? Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteOMG they are fantastic! I love them! Thank you so much for sharing, I showed them to my mum and she is ecstatic too. Guess what we're doing for a small Christmas project ;)
ReplyDeleteWoww these look awesome!! The holo one on the far right is definitely my favorite.
ReplyDeletemr. pineapple man,
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch,
polishedlyrics,
Thank you gal. :)
Laura,
Thanks. I have never done anything with glitter. I picked up the litle tiny bottles at Joann's. It just has to be any fine glitter. A lot of folks use Martha Stuarts. What you have it perfect. That ornament you like is two different blues mixed together. :)
Cel,
Thanks a bunch. I would love to see what your Mom come up with. :)
ChaosButery,
Thanks so much. I think that was all the glitter I had left. LOL.
I like this so much I shared it on my Facebook page with a link back to here.
ReplyDeleteOmigosh, those are sooo pretty! I'm gonna try it out once I find some glass ornaments.
ReplyDeleteTempera,
ReplyDeleteWell isn't that sweet. Thanks.
Helen,
Thanks so much.
I love them!
ReplyDeleteWhy, you crafty gal, you. What a great idea. I never thought of using floor polish as a glue for glitter, but when you think about it, it makes perfect sense.
ReplyDeleteYour balls are so pretty. I love the embellishments, too.
It was nice to see you and hear your voice. :D
Hi Ice Queen,
ReplyDeleteThank so much. That video wasn't mine. It is where I got the idea.
Here is my youtube channel. I have silly videos. LOL.

Very nice job. Of course you always do a nice job. You are a crafty little thing. haha
ReplyDelete:) Thanks Drew and Mason's Poppa. :)

That is just soooo cool!! At first, I thought you had painted the glitter on the outside of the ball. But it's much more practical, smoother, and long lasting if the glitter is inside. Pretty nice idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks GabZ1985,
ReplyDeleteThey are SO quick and easy to do. :)
Susie
Those are really beautiful. I saw a tutorial for these online as well. I just can't find the craft stuff over here. Great job. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSteffie,
ReplyDeleteYou only need a clear floor was, fine glitter and clear ornaments. Hope you can find the stuff because they are cheap, fun, fast and fabulous. :)
Thanks a bunch,
Susie
