Last one until late August or early September! I promise! :)
Here is my try with the Italian Bread recipe from the Bread Baker's Apprentice book. This is the 15th recipe and it puts me ahead until I return from our vacation. YEHA!
It has been so cool here that today I wanted to bake instead of kicking up the furnace. Suppose to be another cold one tonight.
This is a very tasty bread. SO VERY GOOD. I will most definitely be making this again.
UM, DO I SEE AN "S"? LOL!
SO very good! Trust me!
This has been so much fun!
This looks delicious. How big are the loaves?
ReplyDeleteHelene
Helene,
ReplyDeleteThanks, the dough made nine 4 ounce pieces. They are comparable to huge hamburg rolls. :)
Susie
LOL Susie, you're supposed to be on vacation! Put the bread book down and go have fun!
ReplyDeleteThose Italian rolls look divine. When I was leafing through the book, the Italian bread was one of the ones I looked forward to the most. Can't wait to make it.
OMG you baked so far ahead! Will you come bake the rest of my loaves? I'm tired of kneading!
ReplyDeleteCould ya send some of that cool weather out this way? It was 88 degrees inside the house today, so no baking was allowed! I couldn't even make the jam I'd planned, too hot to turn the stove on at all.
ReplyDeleteHave a super wonderful trip across the coutry as you head out my way. Happy trails!
Janice,
ReplyDeleteWould love to send the cool weather to you. It is only 47 here right now.
Thanks, it is exciting to be able to go on a trip like this. :)
Susie
Mags,
ReplyDeleteI'm not on vacation until Aug 1st. :)
OK, OK, I'll put the bread down. LOL. I really would like to bake again though as it is very cool in here. HE HE HE!
Thanks for liking my bread.
Catch ya later,
Susie
Maris,
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
UM, I don't knead. I use a bread machine. I have a spare. :)
Have fun,
Susie
Susie, I love the idea of making sandwich rolls from the Italian bread. You are so far ahead. Glad you can enjoy your vacation. Where are you going?
ReplyDeleteMustangTerri,
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
We are leaving on the Harley Aug 1st for the month to CA from here in northern NY and then back home. :) It will be an awesome adventure. :)
Susie
I love your breads! I want one please
ReplyDeleteKarine,
ReplyDeleteThanks! I don't have anymore but could bake you some. :)
Susie
I'm so glad you have blazed the trail for us! You have been baking like crazy! Excellent job! Gorgeous bread.
ReplyDeleteThe Missing Piece,
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was fun. Can't wait to get back at it in Sept. :)
Susie
You inspire me! These look delicious - crusty yet soft in the middle.
ReplyDeleteMadam Chow,
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
Exactly, they were crusty yet soft. I will be making these again for sure.
HAVE FUN,
Susie
You already did your Italian bread. I'm amaze. They look so good. Can't wait to make this one.
ReplyDeleteHi Helene,
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yup, I'm caught up through Sept 1st. :)
You will love this recipe.
Have fun,
Susie
Your Italian rolls look very yummy. I can't wait to bake the next four recipes as I already have sweet bread fatigue and want to try the salty crusty breads.:)
ReplyDeleteHave the most awesome vacation and see you in September.:)
Oggi,
ReplyDelete:) Thanks! We are excited about going. :)
You will love the next four.
Susie
YOur rolls look amazing. Once again, I can't wait to get to this.
ReplyDeletepinkstripes, :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I loved this recipe and can't wait to bake it again.
Have fun,
Susie
Looks fabulous! I love Italian bread, but you are way ahead of me in the challenge lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda. I don't consider anyone ahead or behind because the object is to go in order and finish the book. :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun,
Susie
Whew, finally caught up with reading all of your bread posts! =) I hope that you're enjoying your vacation. I like how you made rolls for this recipe. I've made PR's Italian bread several times, but just as loaves.
